New-build family house in Guildford. The building sits on a large, landscaped plot as a contemporary counterpoint to its surrounding mock Voysey/Lutyens neighbours.

Mosaic is a Housing Association providing affordable homes and housing services to people in London and Essex. The brief called for the refurbishment of an attractive but run down 50s building, as well as a thorough review and rebranding of the whole organization which had grown tired and chaotic over time.

Refurbishing and extending a house in one of London’s most exclusive areas can be a very challenging prospect for all those involved: the client, the architect, the consultants and the contractor. The first step that the client and architect must jointly take is to establish if the brief can be ‘made to fit’ within the property he/she are about to purchase for a substantial amount of money.

We make full use of CAD and 3D software, but only once we have identified a design direction through drawing. Computers are still some way from matching the immediacy and intensity of ideas expressed by the human hand on paper, direct from the imagination.

Development and refurbishment of a large Victorian four stories house with an exceptional garden, within the Belsize Park conservation area.  The developers brief called for the building to be divided into two 2-bedroom apartments in the upper parts of the building, and a duplex unit benefiting from the full use of the mature 150 ft. garden and off-street parking.
